PostSubject: CHUD's "Franchise Me" on Superman   Mon Jun 17, 2013 2:23 am

I regularly visit the movie-site CHUD.com and they run a regular series called Franchise Me where Joshua Miller has been doing write ups on all sorts of different franchises over time and right now he is currently on the Superman series. I find a lot of his writings to be very worthwhile and thought many would be interested in checking them out. He mainly focuses on films that were released theatrically, from the Kirk Alyn serials to Henry Cavill's film, so stuff like LOIS & CLARK and SMALLVILLE won't be included. So far he has done SUPERMAN III, so he'll have three more entries to go including MAN OF STEEL.

Superman (1948)
Atom Man vs Superman (1950)
Superman and the Mole Men (1951)
Superman (1978)
Superman II (1980)
Superman III (1983)

"It was part of his profession to kill people. He had never liked doing it and when he had to kill he did it as well as he knew how and forgot about it. As a secret agent who held the rare Double-O prefix — the licence to kill in the Secret Service — it was his duty to be as cool about death as a surgeon. If it happened, it happened. Regret was unprofessional — worse, it was a death-watch beetle in the soul." - Goldfinger, by Ian Fleming
