Yessssss …..
I’ll have to give that a listen. I just started Only Murders in the Building, and it’s reminding how, when he’s good, he’s sooo good.

I'm behind on listening to your show, but I've been really enjoying it. Currently working my way through the back half of the Fincher episodes.

Haha. I'm not quite to that one yet (just finished The Social Network today), but it won't take me long, as I listen to a few hours of podcasts a day at work.

What would you say are Martin Short's biggest misses?
(Be forewarned I love Martin Short so much and will likely fight you on this.)

Shall we make a podcasts thread?

If Freems doesn't say "Eh" every third sentence in real life I'm going to be very put out.

I'm a little put off by the lack of a voice for historical context in the Steve Martin ep. I think it's worth noting that, for instance, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid was made before the advent of digital image or audio editing, meaning that extra care had to be taken matching the costumes, props, and even music cues from the vintage film clips. Martin's rep for precisely-planned performance is evident there and elsewhere.
Anyway, I nominate myself as a voice for historical context.

Finished up the Fincher run. Again, loved all of it. I'm eager to finally dive into the Nolan run next, as well as seeing whoever you have lined up to cover after him.

Your episode on it? Yes.

Ah, you guys are too kind.
To us. To MANK, you could stand to be a bit crueler.

I haven't quite finished it, but yeah, the episode on The Northman is very good. Really liked Schwartz trying to make sure the listener knew he was kind of appalled at the depicted violence....while arjenn just wants MORE.
I don't agree with arjenn's assertion that these are amoral people.
Schwartz's suggestion of letting Eggers loose on something like Dune is really intriguing. I'd love to see that...though I suspect, barring any future surprise box office hits, The Northman is probably the biggest budget Eggers is going to get.
While it's perhaps a bit too close to The Witch, I'd love to see Eggers take on Russian mythology (Baba Yaga, Koschei the Deathless).
