CHUD City migration

So this is gonna be something. I’m currently 6000 miles away from my PC, so trying to work from my iPhone which isn’t ideal. Need to relearn and learn admin functions, try to appoint anyone as admin/mods for those volunteering. I won’t be back home until next week but I’ll do my best like I’m sure everyone here will. Lots of work to be done.

I only have one suggestion.

Do EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER not to make Freeman a mod.

I’d grant him the title of mod but without any of the powers.

Yeah, seems like a solid setup! My only complaint about the old forums was over time it had become kind of labyrinthine in terms of where content was posted (there was at least a half dozen threads/categories just for recent movies) so I think having an opportunity to restructure and hopefully combine some of that to promote more discussion is a big plus. Good luck, and at least for the next couple of months I should have a decent amount of free time if you need some help.

Thanks again for the great idea, Stocks. I was really bummed out to hear that Nick was closing the boards but this is the perfect alternative. Looking forward to reading/taking part in the future discussions here on CHUD II: Bud the CHUD.

Likewise appreciate the offer of a sanctuary for the CHUD diaspora. Though we could probably use a general-chat subforum in addition to all the media/genre stuff here.

I made Ovie an admin so that he can start restructuring, changing the aesthetics and such.

So yes, he truly has unlimited power.

Happy to take on mod duties, which I don't imagine will be too heavy with the handful of folks we'll be dealing with.

We will certainly need a Politics forum added.

For group-therapy purposes, if nothing else.

Thus there is now a politics section. Fire away.

Just got a random email from Counting down.com forms and was really confused. Clicked on it and was going through all the topics to jog my memory. Now I remember this was a short lived revival of the old original forums.

Wow really wondering what sparked this place back to life all of a sudden.

As some have heard, Nick changed his mind and will keep TC going, which means a lot of folks are less inclined to post here now that TC won’t be nuked.

I’ll keep the lights on, but with TC remaining and lesser and lesser people posting on CD over time, it’s feeling very familiar with how that place started to wind down way back in 2013. It’s made me feel less motivated about the place compared to a month ago when it felt like a new door was opening while the other was closing. I’m not throwing in the towel, but just sharing where my head is at and where everyone else is at. I don’t blame anyone that feels drawn to stick with TC. I get it, because I only brought up this place because I thought TC was definitively on the way out.
