Take it from me gang, if you watch just one James Bond movie this weekend it should be THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS.

I watched it last weekend on Prime 4K.

Delicious.

Now you’re talking! Dalton parachuting from the flaming Jeep and ending up on the yacht is an all-timer for me.

I pissed on the front porch of the house used for Felix Leiters home in Key West from License to Kill… and got my open water diving certification on The Sea Eagle, the boat Bond uses to scope out Chavez’ money hideout with Frank McCrae.

I always see LICENSE TO KILL as trying too hard for the whole “Joel Silver” vibe. On the surface I should love that but it just doesn’t quite work for Bond. Dalton is great though.

I’ve been doing Bond nights with my roommmate and her boyfriend, watching them in release order. They were surprised by how the switch from Moore to Dalton changed the tone of the films and that was only from watching TLD. They really enjoyed Moore’s films as larks in a way that surprised them, so once with Dalton it was like “oh the plot is more intricate, we should pay even more attention”.

I’ll be curious of how they react to LTK, I feel like I didn’t convey how much of a shock it was to see the franchise tossing aside the formula they way it did in 1989 and put off a lot of viewers.

Dalton was Craig before Craig in terms of his tone I think.

Certainly. That’s something I brought up, and how going from Moore to Dalton was more of a tonal whiplash in the 80s than it was from Brosnan to Craig.

I watched Goldeneye recently probably in the last 2 years or so and man, it just did not hold up for me.

Still pissed that that Goldeneye 20 year anniversary remake fell through for Xbox. The 20 minutes of gameplay they posted on YouTube looked incredible.

Surprised you had that reaction to GOLDENEYE. I saw for the first time in a while not long ago and it really blew me away. It’s one of the great action films of its era.

I revisited TND also and that one was more off target. Some good sequences and Pryce is fun but didn’t all add up to a good film.

My revisit of GOLDENEYE last year cemented its Top 10 status for me.

Great leading lady, great dialogue, tone balanced just right.

GOLDENEYE has been on regular rotation for myself since '95. It was my first theatrical bond, given that my movie-going habit didn't start until between the LTK-GOLDENEYE gap.

I was digging through an old stack of Sc-Fi Universe magazines, and I ran across a fairly middling review of GOLDENEYE. The reviewer thought it was too analytical and meta for the Bond series. Casino Royale/Skyfall/No Time to Die probably made their head go full 'Scanners'

I just finished up NO TIME TO DIE again.

The shock and knee-jerk negative reaction to the ending is wearing off, but I still don't love the decision.

It’s no FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.

That much is certain.

I didn’t really give a take on NO TIME TO DIE when I saw it back in theaters because I didn’t want to be a buzzkill. But boy after a promising start it lost me quick. I’ll likely have to give it a shot again sometime soon.

Every now and then I’ll start a poll. Now it’s about who is the best Bond. You all have five days!

There are still rumblings that the GOLDENEYE 64 remaster might finally (legally) see the light of day soon.

I've been hearing that, as well.

You are not alone.

If there’s one Bond game worth trying to bring back from all the legal entanglements that plagues every single game, it’s GE64.

If it’s even possible, try to get likeness rights for every Bond where you can not only use on multiplayer but make it an unlockable to change skins for the proper game.
